Embroidery is priced by the stitch count of the design. Basically the larger the design the higher the stitch count (literally the number of times the needle goes up and down in stitching the design). Industry standard is approximately $1.00 per 1,000 stitches. In custom work the design is digitized (converted into embroidery language for the (peripheral) by artists using a digitizing tablet. When the design is digitized it can then be sewn out using the embroidery machine (peripheral) as many times as one may desire.
